"Graduate students serve a key role in the Faculty of Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences. As an applied research powerhouse covering the environment, economics, health and society locally and globally, we leverage the perspectives and dedicated efforts of graduate students to address this breadth of disciplines. Together, we can improve the entire human experience while furthering the knowledge and careers of budding young learners, scientists and leaders. We're proud of the leadership and support provided by the ALES Graduate Student Association, particularly as they welcome students from across the world and a diverse set of disciplinary experiences. Thank you to the executives who make time away from their learning, teaching and research to facilitate these activities and opportunities. It's a pleasure to collaborate with you in this important work."
"I am a protein chemist who has been in the Faculty of ALES since 2002. In addition to my role as Professor, I have held various academic leadership roles such as Associate Dean (Academic), Associate Dean (Graduate Studies), Associate Dean in the former Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research (now FGPS) and Vice-Provost (Programs). I am currently serving ALES as the Vice-Dean. One of the great joys of serving in these roles is meeting the wonderful graduate students we have here in the Faculty of ALES. I look forward to meeting many of you and learning about your work. All the very best."
"Serving as President of the ALES-GSA has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I am so grateful to have worked alongside an amazing team whose dedication, creativity, and teamwork made our accomplishments possible. Together, we strengthened our student community, fostered collaboration, and created meaningful opportunities for graduate students. One of the proudest moments of my term was leading the transformation of our annual symposium into the first-ever ALES Graduate Research Conference—the largest event in our history."
